Version 2.1 of the vMix Virtual Control Surface is now Available in the Apple App Store for the iPad! The was formerly known as vDesk This version has be redesigned and has much better performance across all generations of iPads. You can get the app at the link below!

https://itunes.apple.com...surface/id978932322?mt=8

vMix CS is a software control surface for controlling the video switching program vMix. This app enables you to control vMix from anywhere within your network. vMix CS also provides the feel of a traditional hardware switcher. Simply press the IP address within vMix CS and type in the IP address of the computer running vMix.

vMix Virtual Control Surface Features:
-12 preview buttons
-12 program buttons
-12 overlay buttons
-12 audio input faders
-12 mute input buttons
-12 audio meters (DBFS)
-4 DSK buttons to control up to 4 overlay channels
-4 transition buttons
-4 user programmable buttons (programmed within vMix as F1, F2, F3, F4)
-Master / Bus A / Bus B audio fader
-Master / Bus A / Bus B mute button
-Record, Stream, External, FadeToBlack, and Take buttons
-Smooth T-Bar

******NOTE****** The host vMix computer must have its network set to "Home". Setting this to "Work" or "Public" will block vMix Virtual Control Surface from connecting to vMix. This can be changed by right clicking the network icon on the bottom right of windows and selecting "Open Network and Sharing Center". In the Network and Sharing Center, the network that you are currently connected to will be displayed along with an icon. Under the name should list the current security setting. It will either list "Home", "Work" or "Public". To change this setting, click on the link below the network name and a new window will pop up. In this new window, select "Home Network"

In Windows 10 this needs to be set to Private

This may work with Windows 7 and perhaps 8, but in Windows 10 you only have "Private" and "Public".
Switching has also changed: http://www.tenforums.com...public-windows-10-a.html

An iPhone version of the app is also in the works and should be released soon! How many would use the app for iPhone when it is available?

Fantastic app! :)
I bought it earlier today and had a quick test with it and it works really well.

Is there anything I can do to minimise the delay when switching between the audio and the video page? Some times it will take several seconds to switch (iPad Air)

Do you have any plans to add features like being able to change text in titles and changing settings for the fullscreen outputs?

Thanks! :)

Edit: depending on if you're making the iPhone version available as a universal app (ie. no need to buy it again), then I'll probably end up trying it and possibly using it if the buttons aren't too small.

Glad you like the app!

It should switch nearly immediately. How long does it take on your iPad?

We do have plans on additional features including a potential live multiview video feed to the app that can be used as a touchscreen switcher (via NDI) as well as 24 inputs and integrating title editing and adding in vMix social. All plans for right now but we will keep you updated as we progress:)

I think it was a temporary problem, haven't been able to replicate the problem since.

Sounds great :)

Andoid version is in the works. It's not easy to port the app to the Android platform. The iOS platform is more user friendly with Swift. However with Apple making Swift open source, there may be a solution soon to porting the app over to Android more easily. Definitely planning on the app in the future!

I have a problem, pressing the program button, the mixing is done but does not start the video. Only the first frame appears.

What can be the cause?

How about including the program monitor as NDI receiver in the video mixer screen?

That would make the Control Surface as a wireless vMix terminal without a need to sit in front of the screen.

Using the program button will only make the clip active in the "Live" window but will not play the clip. If you want to play the clip you would need to click the preview button and use one of four transition buttons or the "Take", "Auto" buttons or the T-Bar.

We may add the feature to automatically play the clip in the future so stay tuned.

We are waiting for some development progressions in the Microsoft Bridge program within Visual Studio that will allow us to easily port Swift to Visual Studio for a smooth transition. The Apple WWDC conference is also coming up where they may release Swift 3.0 which may also include some advancements in the porting process to both Windows and Android. I know its been a long process but we want to make sure that the port is a high quality port and has a smooth workflow between the iOS versions and the Windows/Android versions. Thank you for your patience in the process. We want to get a Windows/Android version in your hands ASAP.

This is the plan for the future version of the app. Currently the NDI libraries do not have an ARM processor (mobile) version for iOS devices yet. This is in the works through NewTek and we will look implement this touchscreen video mixer to the app as soon as that library is made available.

Fair answer- thank you for that. Now.. to go start beating on Microsoft's door for good porting tools, and Apple's for Swift 3.0 porting abilities. :)

That's exactly what we are doing:) Our desire is to have it written a single time and then ported to different platforms each time rather than creating the app from the group up for each platform and then adding the features to each version every time there is an update. The Microsoft Bridge tool is getting close to working but we haven't quite gotten it to work. We have converted it to Visual Studio with the tool but are running into errors when building it. It's getting there!
