Hi Guys,

Recently back from Mexico doing some Ultimate Frisbee production...

The first day and a bit the live stream did not work and I recorded in MagicYUV codec .avi's.

The video files play fine with audio in VLC. When I went to import them into Premiere CC to render out for publishing, Premiere conformed the audio but I only got the first minute or so of it in the timeline with the rest blank.

When I extracted the audio and re-synced and exported the timeline would export most of the sequence but get stuck on a random frame and freeze there for the remainder of the export.

I am currently testing the same files on a different machine with Adobe Premiere CS6 and the audio appears to be working OK.

However the following problem with it not importing the whole clip is happening on both machines:

There is also an instance where Premiere only imports the first 0:53 of a sequence that plays in VLC as a 33 minute clip.

Just wondering if anyone has any ideas what is causing this issue (it has massively slowed down my workflow in this case.) Some googling pointed me to the file possibly having incorrect header information... any ideas?

thanks

Mike

Hi.
The premiere of you conforming reaches the end or you're trying to play a sound immediately after importing the video?
If you can lay out what this video that I tried it at home.

If it is some kind of AVI indexing issue, may need to download VirtualDub
open it up in there then from the Video and Audio menus select "direct stream copy" and save it out again as a brand new avi file.

Thanks for the replies... Virtual dub stream copy fixed the problem. Ideally I wouldn't have to do this as it slows things down, but is a faster fix (and a great video tool) Thanks for the tip.

The audio thing is a bit puzzling... seems specific to my other computer... Ill do some more testing on that (it is not the conforming thing... I waited for it to complete... but it did not make any difference)

@ aircooled76@gmail.com

What other AVI codecs are available to you?
I have had good results working with "GoPro-Cineform Codec [x64]" in 'Premiere Pro'.

Sorry for bumping an older thread, but I had this indexing issue happening for the second time now.
Playing in mediaplayer, normal length. Imported into Premiere, 1min33sec.
The first time I encountered this, I was happy to find this thread.
But this shouldn't happen of course, it also takes up time to do the direct stream copy, while I most of the time like to render a rough version for the client during breakdown.

I am wondering how this happens though, at both times, I started and stopped the recording without anything weird going on in between.
I would expect this kind of thing from crashes while recording, but not when everything is going fine.
