Can someone please tell me why I can record a presentation and the audio is exactly like it should be for playback but I can't hear anything through my headphones during the process of recording?

What do I need to do? It must be simple....

Thanks

Check the settings and then Audio Outputs.

Make sure Headphones is set to the audio device you are using for your headphones.

That is a story within itself, your headphones could be usb, bluetooh, in a different sound card.

If that doesn't get you on the right path, we would need more information about how the headphones are connected.

Thank you for your response.

I have done all of that already and have also reset the entire program to defaults and still no sound. Remember, the sound is there in the finished product. I just cant hear any sound during the process with or without headphones.

I have checked the audio inputs and pc settings as well but since I can hear audio from any source except vmix (while recording) I seem to think it is a software setting too simple to see

Could you show us a screenshot of your vMix audio mixer?

Maybe you pressed [s] (solo) button somewhere...?

One of the simplest ways to monitor your audio during streaming/recording is to actually connect the headphones to a speaker jack on your PC and, in vMix, direct the Headphone Audio to that Windows Audio Device.

Setting up headphones to monitor audio through a separate mixer can be difficult. At is it is for me. ;)
