i dont know exactly if this is a bug... i allways used "Stereo Line Input" associated to an usb video source, for recording in vmix and for FMLE. now if i use it for usb device i cant use it on recording, FMLE is ok. regards, melody www.espiritosanto.cc

Hi,
Do you have any plans to include RTSP (IP-Cameras) input to vMix?
Right now I have to transcode RTSP -> RTMP -> vMix (using XSplit/crtmpserver and/or UMediaServer), this is working but... has become more problematic as I have got two new Vivotek IP cameras lately :-) The fact that they can stream full HD does not make the transcoding/resizing easier or faster... (Seems I will need to upgrade vMix to "HD" shortly anyway).
This feature will eliminate the extra computers/VMs (windows+linux) to convert RTSP to RTMP. And it should give me less delay (now 1-1.5sec)
Best regards Kjetil

RECORDING In this version as previous ones, I have to hit the recording setup button before starting to record. If I do not need to make any changes, why must I hit setup? Should just be able to hit record.
EXTERNAL STOP/START Just sent an error report. Toggle start/stop will generate "The Capture Device is still in use, close any open programs and try again". DeckLink.MM_New
Minor point:
The left/right order of the controls for RECORD and EXTERNAL are different than the order of the status displayed *EXT *REC. Shouldn't the display be in the same order: *REC *EXT? I had an operator accidentally stop EXT thinking it was REC because he was looking at the display and not closely at the controls.
Thanks.

Recording: This is by design to ensure that you confirm the recording settings are correct before starting. Otherwise one could easily begin recording to the wrong format accidentally and only find out when checking the recording later.
External Start/Stop: This error will appear if vMix Video is still being used by FMLE or another program and the external output is stopped. Close FMLE etc before starting again.
RECORD/EXTERNAL order will be fixed, thanks.

I vote for remembering the setting and not being forced to confirm each time.

I could see this being an issue if one needed to change the settings often, but how many times does a user need to change the record settings? I have not had to change mine for months! How about a check box in the recording settings "Ask to confirm settings before recording"?

I will add the check box for users that are confident the recording settings will be fine. I personally would be really careful about using this feature as I can think of nothing worse than recording an event for 2 hours and finding the output was not in the format I thought it was!
Regards,
Martin vMix

Regards, Martin vMix Perfect. You are right but in our case we do not change the format or other parameters of the recording from time to time. We have a dedicated SSD where we record and we do not even change the path of the files thanks to the naming system you already have implemented.

+1. Normally, we don't need to change a setup so often... when it works fine ! ;-) OT: I take this opportunity to ask you all, computer litterates: checking my system with LatencyMon (nice software BTW), it seems my laptop (Sony Vaio Win7/64, i5, 4 GB RAM) isn't running so smooth for audio & video, due to a problem in the "ACPI.sys' file... any idea? I already changed a few things regarding network, graphic card, and all but I'm lost here... For those interested: http://www.resplendence.com/latencymon

Hello
Your software is very cool!
I would like to know if you have think to introduce an automation module?
If you can add it, well you will have another hit on the tv industry, because we are needing a full software that can manage the live video mix and full automation, for example Raduga Video helps with the Automation process but we can not mix the video, we must to use a video mixer hardware to send that signal to Vmix, so if Vmix can has an automation module were we can set up time and days, tv spots, tv adds, etc wowww just imagine it!!!

Hi, I just installed the V8 test version. Can not wait to test the desktop capture especially the apple version!!
But... I can not see any controls on the preview windows. These are just empty. Does anybody have the same problem? What Can I do (I tried all three themes available). Stefan

Can you provide a screenshot of what you are seeing? The controls on the top Preview / Main windows will now only appear if you have opened a video, they are hidden by default for inputs that can't be controlled anyway.
Regards,
Martin vMix

testing quickly (more time tomorrow): - no scrolling in the input selection pane with scrollwheel (does work after pressing 'save' in a videodelay, until focus changes , then scrollwheel stops working in bottom pane. - no audio in saved videodelays

Hi martin,
Thanks for the quick reply: 'It would appear the font size in Windows has been set to something other than the default. To fix this go to Control Panel, go to Appearance and Personalization and go to Display. Make sure the Smaller 100% option is selected.'
this has solved the issue and I can see all controls now!
I will keep on testing and i will keep an eye on this post. Thanks Stefan
