When recording, there is no bar meter shows the recording in the audio mixer. Is there a solution?

Next to the 'Record' button, click on the 'cog' to configure the recording settings, and tick the 'Audio' box if it is not ticked.......

With the same settings in v15 no problem. but in v16.0.0.48 no display in recording meter. And now it is repaired by martin in v16.0.0.50.

I'm interested in hearing feedback on if the Merge effect is any better for the scenarios that have been discussed.
Fades on non-merging layers I still think are important for the majority of use cases, but hopefully the ordering solves some issues that have been reported.
