Could vMix multicorder or something similar record audio inputs.
Before everyone shouts me down, I use vMix exclusively for livestreaming – mainly funerals.
I use 3 to 4 cameras, some ingested pre-recorded video and at least 2 and up to 6 microphones.
I use Bit Focus Companion to move between microphones and to create the realtime output which I stream all around the world via Mux.
So why am I asking to record the audio inputs? Well often after the funeral I produce a more polished recording where I try to iron out all the bumps caused by frantically switching the inputs to the livestream because nothing goes to plan.
People pop up and start talking or singing from nowhere etc.
I can use an external audio desk like a Zoom L-12 to manage and record the audio which I can feed into vMix as multiple audio inputs.
The problem is that as a one man producer, DP, Audio Engineer and camera man it is another bit of kit to carry, set up and manage when I normally have less than 30 minutes to get everything set up.
My ideal would be to record each audio input as 32 bit float pre-fader as well as the output audio.
It would make my life a lot easier. What do others think?
