Hi everyone,
I'm troubleshooting an NDI issue and have isolated it as much as I can before posting.
System vMix 29.0.0.47 (Trial) Lenovo Legion 5i Gen 10 Intel Core Ultra 7 255HX NVIDIA RTX 5070 Laptop GPU 32GB RAM Windows 11 Pro Internal NVMe SSD Netgear GS305EP Smart Managed PoE Switch Camera PTZOptics Studio 4K Latest firmware installed NDI enabled Tested both Full NDI and NDI HX3 Symptoms
When using the PTZOptics camera as an NDI source in vMix, I consistently receive Source Drops, Render Drops, and Sync Issues.
Example results:
1080p30 NDI (RTX 5070)
79 Source Drops 32 Render Drops 20 Sync Issues
4K30 NDI
Even higher drop counts than 1080p What I've Tested GPU Tested on NVIDIA RTX 5070 Tested on Intel integrated graphics Issue occurs on both Recording Tested with recording enabled Tested with recording disabled Issue occurs in both scenarios HDMI Comparison
Using the same PTZOptics camera via HDMI into a Magewell capture device:
1080p29.97 HDMI
0 Source Drops 0 Render Drops 0 Sync Issues
This appears completely stable.
NDI Studio Monitor
Viewed the PTZOptics NDI stream in NDI Studio Monitor for several minutes.
No visible stutters No freezes No reconnects Stream appears stable Network Adapter Tuning
Disabled:
Energy Efficient Ethernet Green Ethernet Power Saving features Interrupt Moderation
This reduced Render Drops significantly but did not eliminate the problem.
Network Ethernet link speed confirmed at 1.0 Gbps PTZOptics connected through Netgear GS305EP switch No other significant traffic on the network Project Settings Tested 1080p30 Tested 2160p30 Camera and project frame rates matched Performance CPU usage remains very low GPU usage remains low Render times generally between 2ms and 9ms Question
Since:
HDMI from the same camera is perfect, NDI Studio Monitor appears stable, The issue occurs on both Intel and NVIDIA GPUs, The issue occurs at both 1080p and 4K,
I'm trying to determine whether this points to:
A PTZOptics NDI implementation issue NDI runtime/configuration issue Network adapter/driver issue Something specific to vMix's handling of this NDI source
Has anyone experienced similar behavior with PTZOptics Studio 4K cameras and NDI in vMix?
Any suggestions for additional diagnostics would be greatly appreciated.
