So when we rename zoom callers I see in the Vmix 27 changelog that in the background the Plugin continues to use actual names, this is fine except that if a caller logs in in twice, ie PC and celphone (he has reasons) Vmix/Plugin sees the same guy and gets confused when putting into a layer etc., causing the wrong video to populate. Renaming doesn't help as we see it uses the login/original names.
can there be a check box to override naming>?

What would that checkbox do? vMix treats the name used to join the meeting as a GUID for the duration of the meeting and it's the sole identifier used for participants. This has been the case since the plugin was launched and appears in red bolded text in the documentation. A simple checkbox won't change that when the entire Zoom integration was built on the idea that every user would have a unique name. I think you'd have better luck simply telling that person that they should append the name of the device they're using to the name they use to connect. Instead of joining twice as "John Smith", they should join as "John Smith Phone" and "John Smith Computer". Since vMix only uses original names, I also outright disabled the ability for renaming in any meeting I'm hosting.
