Is there a way to bringing an external camera via vmix call? Example I’m thinking of getting a SDI to USB converter, hook up a broadcast camera via HDSDI port to make a laptop think it’s a webcam to use vmix call. This would give me better quality and less latency in theory.

Yes, you can use a capture device and use it as a webcam in vMixCall.
Maybe it's worth for you to take a look into the free NDI tools as they exactly provide the functionality you want, is free and can pick up sources from the network no matter who created them or where they are. All you need is a proper network.
