Have you tried downloading the file separatly and install that way (not via clicking the update link within vMix)

This error is due to a corrupt install. Please download the file again manually from our web site and ensure all programs (including background apps such as Skype, Teams, etc) are all closed before installing.
Then pay close attention to the install, do not skip windows that appear warning about files in use etc, but locate the applications it mentions and ensure they are closed.
Regards,
Martin vMix

Thanks Martin. Unfortunately I can't solve it. I uninstalled everything from "application installations" I also had a vMix folder left under Program(x86) which I deleted manually, I reinstall everything, but it gives me the same error :-(

It is definitely caused by a file still in use by a program when installing, so you are just going to have to check the windows system tray and close absolutely everything after restarting fresh. Failing that you can contact vMix Support directly, for some further suggestions, but that will be the cause.

I had the same problem - see my post above prior to seeing this.
You will find that your antivirus program is identifying a module in the latest update as a virus known as Gen:Variant.Remcos.1 and blocks the module from loading. This causes VMix to fail with the error you are seeing. I was able to add VMix64.exe as an exception in my antivirus (Bitdefender) which solved the problem.
Remcos itself is a remote access tool, and is certainly legitimate within VMix, but has been leveraged by malicious actors to gain control of endpoints.

Here's the fix.
Open your BitDefender dashboard. Select "Protection" On the Antivirus pane click "Open" On the top menu of the Antivirus section click "Settings" Click on the "Manage Exceptions" link Click "Add an Exception" In Windows File Manager go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Vmix Drag "VMix64.exe" into the exception box (see below) Turn on the "Antivirus" switch. Save the exception. Drag "VMix.exe" into the exception box. Turn on the "AntiVirus" switch. Save the exception.
VMix will work again.

For the record, vMix has not and never has used Remcos. This is a false positive, and Bitdefender is pretty notorious for causing issues and we recommend removing it and sticking with Windows Defender instead.
