Hello everyone,

I recorded a lot of files in .avi format now I have big problems to edit them in Premiere Pro CC

We were able to import them in Premiere and even edit them ( with some crashes of Premiere Pro)

But now the export ( rendering ) is not possible as the Premiere Pro crashes a couple of minutes after starts rendering.

Any suggestion is much appreciated.

Best regards,
Clement

What codec did you use? Check with MediaInfo and post result.

I have had good luck with the Cineform codec.
Most of the others have either been problematic with Premiere Pro CS5 or are too large for my liking.

Are you able to convert the files with some other piece of software?
Perhaps play back through vMix and record to a different codec...

Hello Ceejay7777, Thank you.

The Mediainfo output is bellow.

IceStream, I tried to convert them without any success.

Probably I'll try the re-recording vMix solution soon if the fix will not appear .

HI Guys, I came across this issue recently as well. I too have premier pro CC 2014. The fix was to downgrade the blackmagic drivers on my system to 10.1.1. It seems Adobe are aware there is an issue with current drivers (10.3.2) and premier pro CC 2014. Look on adobe support page to get drivers.
Hope this helps :)

Yep, looks like your version of Premiere Pro doesn't like the MJPEG codec. I don't use Premiere as a rule, but I recorded some MJPEG AVI in vMix and the file played and rendered OK in PP CS4.

The suggestion to re-record in vMix sounds like the best bet. I also use Cineform most of the time and it works in my NLE of choice - Sony Vegas.

Thank you all for the suggestions.

HighViewSport, the rolling back drivers is a solution only for future recording?
It will not fix the already recorded files. Is that right?

Yes, unfortunately thats correct.
What I did was playout the original recording from vmix and connected my atomos ninja recorder to the output and recorded a prores version.
Premier pro cc 2014 accepts that fine.

I know you have a lot of recordings so could be a pain but it is a solution.
You could also try convert the film using handbrake. I personally try avoid converting all costs. Have not converted a file for years now :)

Good luck, Bryan
