The dialoue box below is what I get when attempting to add a firewire camera to the vmix which has a shuttle hdmi input The program sees the specific camera in the Input select capture dialogue however the dreaded blue box appears "vMix2012 AddNewInput The supplied user buffer is not valid for the requested operation." Are basic tutorials or walk thrus on Youtube or elsewhere please? Thanks Bruce firewire is not an option in the list

I've looked at the error message and it looks like it might be a firewire card issue so you might need to try another card.

thanks ..another point is that this camera produces a 1440x1080 hdv signal which is not listed within the selectable resolutions dialogue.
When the camera is set to downconvert and in DV output mode, the input is accepted albeit without audio

The Resolution, Input and System boxes are not used for DV/HDV so it doesn't matter what they are set to.

It seems 64bit Win7 is quite unfriendly to firewire this according to umpteen forums I've googled on the topic
I best forget those HDV cams in the bottom drawerr and get an Intensity pro to go with the intensity shuttle and take it from there

I might be wrong, but I think that Firewire, when used as a video input, is limited to SD resolution...
