I would like to propose an addition to vMix transitions: ZoomFade.

Transition in: centered zoom out from e.g. 2x to 1x while fading in
Transition out: fade out while zooming

Use scenario: a smooth global transition for one or multiple content layers positioned at near the edges of the image area.

2x zoom ratio is proposed on a basis of center area being usually free of overlay content.

Example principle:

A few lines of code in vMix scripting (using ZetZoom and SetAlpha functions) can do that for you (until feature request is implemented of course)

That's true, but for I wouldn't use modified input zoom and alpha properties constantly to achieve "only" a transition-type outcome.

So I'll count the comment as +1 :)
