I am running a show whereby the "host" is remote. The issue I'm running into is when i want to switch to his OBS, which i bring in via Vmix call (Virtual Webcam), or SRT, for gameplay or anything that is running on his PC i can hear myself coming over his vmix call. that is because OBS is picking up the entirety of his desktop audio.

Is there a fast and easy way to solve this? I'm open to all suggestions (for my own knowledge) but in reality I can't make a lot of changes if any at all on his computer such as installing new software and things like that.

Thanks for any help anyone can give on this!

I could see a way with vmix running on both sides. The basic HD 60$ would be sufficient. Then you have the call(up to 1080) within vMix, are able to add the screen capture as a source there directly and you can use the buses and different audio outputs so that no loop is happening.
Another way is to use a mobile phone with headset for the call.
a third option, if he sends via SRT and you use mobile phones for comms. There are intercom or pushToTalk apps available for free

Try to use virtual cables app. See this video for reference on how to do it
