Just watched 10mins of the ice hockey game - really like the two camera setup, gives real depth and variety to the coverage.
I know how difficult operating a camera at an ice hockey game is, keeping up with the puck - your guys do so very well!

Going forward you might want to invest in some gopro cameras, placed behind the goal. Take the HDMI output, in to a HDMI-SDI device and back to vMix.
Fix the gopro to the plexiglass with a suction mount and make sure you set it recording (if the device isn't set to record, the output is 4:3. once you hit record, that changes to 16:9)
They give some great footage of goals.

Also maybe put a gopro in each penalty box? Great for cut-aways.

We're thinking about using GoPro's but im wondering how to connect it while hanging in the goals.
as far for the bench and penalty box we can connect it to the hdmi-sdi converter.

@richard gatarski, we using Sony PMW 400's and our bitrate is 4000kbs, it depens whether we can use
an internet connection or a wireless usb dongle (4G) since internet is expensive in the netherlands.

What cameras were you using, besides the Gopros?

I have also used Gopros on the plexiglass behind the goals, but it was very frustrating.
The camera would either not hold onto the glass or the cables loosen up, so we would have to plug them back in very often.

We also tried to mount the gopro with a clamp mount on the top of the glass, which made them a perfect target for the puck...

And besides that the video quality was always very disappointing. Very grainy, not really sharp and after a few matches, weird horizontal lines made the picture quality even worse.

Maybe I did something wrong, maybe there are some hints for better Gopro live production quality, but from my experience I would say that a Gopro is not a suitable live production camera and in the future I'd rater use something like this: http://www.monacor.co.uk/products/security-cameracolour/vnr/183810/ with a suitable lens.

We tried to use the GoPros (Hero3)once again in our live production, but it failed me again. This time we even had problems to get a constant video signal into our machine.
We were using the HDMI output of the Hero3 and converted it with Blackmagics HDMI->SDI Mini Converter and started the recording on the GoPro to get better video quality.

All we got was a flickering input signal in Vmix.
We tried it with different HDMI and SDI cables, but it didn't work.
We also tried the same setup with a prosumer camera and I got a clean signal with no flickering.

After googling for quite some time, I found out that it probably has something to do with GoPro and Mini Converter firmware/driver incompatibilities and that the Gopros HDMI signal has a RGB output format.

I tried different firmwares and drivers, but I've had always the same flickering problem.

So what's your trick? Which firmware/drivers do you use?

I just can't get it to work properly.

youtube could bite you in the bum if it detects copyrighted materials in live stream (and will not accept the fact that you licenced it I know from experience)

dutch internet isn't that bad price-wise, major problem with going 3g or 4g is that on a busy event you loose signal because a lot of people are using the same celltower. That's why we use our satlink at events with more than a few visitors.
