Hello guys , we have an opportunity to create a PC and I'm not sure what would be the best option . For now we are using 2 BMD Duo 2 , but looking to upgrade to 4k in near future at least a part of the prod . due the lack of pci lanes (for 12th gen) as 8k pro require 8x

From Vmix reference systems on 4k + replay "Diamond" , it is recomended i9 10980XE (hard to find , also on many distribuitors x299 MOBO it is out of stock for a long time )

Did anybody already using the use 12th Gen CPUs with vMix? Any issues to look out for performance and stability ? Is still a good option the 10th Gen ? Due the need of pci lanes but it gets preatty old , I'm affraid just that Intel will move quickly and 10th gen will be obsoleted , now is hard to find some components for X-series I don't want to imagine what will be in one year.

My options are :

For 12th GEN
Motherboard: ASUS ROG STRIX Z690-E GAMING WIFI
Processor: Intel i9 12900KF
Processor Cooling: ROG 360 RYUJIN II AIO LIQUID CPU COOLER RGB
Memory: DDR5 64GB (4X16GB) 4000MHZ
Graphics: NVIDIA RTX 3090 24GB GRAPHICS (BRAND MAY VARY)
SSD: NVME M.2 SSD 2TB
HDD: SEAGATE 2TB HDD 7200RPM
Power Supply: 1000W 80 PLUS GOLD rate Fully Modular PSU
Case: ASUS TUF GT501 ATX SERIES
Capture cards : 2 x BMD Duo 2 , upgrade to 1 BDM 8k Pro + 1 Duo 2
OS: Windows 10 pro

For i9 10980XE
Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix X299-E Gaming II
Processor: 10980XE
Processor Cooling: Cooler Master MasterLiquid ML360R RGB
Memory: DDR4 64GB (4X16GB)
Graphics: Gigabyte GeForce RTX 3080 Ti Gaming OC 12GB
SSD: SSD M.2 2TB SAMSUNG 980 PRO
SDD: SSD M.2 500GB SAMSUNG 980 PRO
Power Supply: Corsair RMx (2021) 850 W 80+

I have 10980XE and recently compared it with my friends 12700k. Without 4Ghz oc, the new processor is faster. If you have good cooling and can pass beyond 4Ghz, then the 10980XE can keep up. Of course you would also have more cores and PCI lanes if that's important to you.

If I was in your position, I would have gone for a newer generation. They are better in price/permormance scale.
