I'm having video problems with vMix and I give my best to explain the following problem. Sorry, Iam no native English speaker... :):

Today i got the Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle USB3. I read a lot about problems with the device, but I wanted to test it out for a Livestream Project.

So, the device works fine. No flickering or black frames on my MacBook Pro running Windows 7 x64 (new one, Mid 2014). I streamed about 2 hours with the following inputs:

- Audio Input (Behringer Audio Mixer, USB)
- Intensity Shuttle HDMI Sony Camcorder 720p 50p (USB3)
- Desktop Capture of a remote MacBook combined in a Multiview mix witch the Intensity Shuttle as a video overlay on the top right of the Desktop Capture.

All works fine until i add a additional source, the Sintel Movie 720p Trailer. Link
I think it must be 24p.

After that I get picture problems on preview and on live site, which are also transferred in the stream. I tried to take a snapshot, but Iam not fast enough. It looks like short flashing of Blackmagic capture input on top of the sintel movie, but only small in a corner and very short.

I don't understand why? When i close the Sintel Trailer input, the problem stops immediately.

CPU usage is about 40-70%
vMix render time is around 3-15, never over 20 or 25 ms.

Does anyone know the problem?

thank you for your reply.

No, my 13" MacBook Pro has an Intel integrated GPU.
It's the smalest one with Iris Graphics. Drivers are from the Mac Bootcamp package, but I can check if there are newer drivers.

Mhh, you mean it could be a graphic performance related issue?
I thought i would see such performance problems when vMix render time goes up above 20 or 25 secs. But render time is fine. And CPU usage is always under 70%.

That is really a problem for me, because Iam not sure if i can count on vMix on that project. Like i said, no problems until i open and play that h264 video file. :(

Maybe an idea?

I read about EVR right now in the vMix documentation. So you think it is a performance problem with my GPU? For reliability you recommend VMR9 in the documentation. How could EVR cause stability problems?

How can Windows 8.1 help me in this situation?

In the past, I have decided consciously for Windows 7. I saw no advantage in Windows 8 in connection with Vmix. But Iam not a software developer... :)
