Audio drops - The Post dBFS drops out intermittently

We are running our audio through a Focusrite Scarlett Solo audio interface.
In the mixer, in the settings, the volume slider for the pre is fine, but the post volume drops out. The dBFS number goes to inf or 1nf.
I can be more specific, but I don't even know where to look.
