Hello, I am the creator of the ZoomOSC application, which allows external software to control and listen to Zoom. I have created a video that is now trending in the vMix user group about how I can use the Activators in vMix to control ZoomOSC, but it currently requires an intermediate software (Isadora in my example) to translate the MIDI to OSC, and this is inefficient.

Below is my suggestion for how the Activators should be modified (sorry for lobotomizing the UI)
suggested method for adding OSC to vMix activators

I am not asking for a complete reworking or OSC API for vMix, I would just like to have a user-defined OSC output from the activator system. I can do the rest of the work in ZoomOSC.

Some notes about my choices:

  • It is critical that the user be able to define the IP and Port to send the OSC to

  • It is also important that the user is able to create BOTH a custom OSC address AND an arbitrary number of numeric or string payloads (see help text, stolen from QLab)
