I am new to streaming and vMix. I have built a computer with DeckLink Mini Recorder and am trying to connect to an Avipas 1080 with SDI interface. vMix recognizes the DeckLink Mini Recorder and I can control the camera using vMix by connecting directly to it. Unfortunately I cannot see a picture. The SDI cable is a new commercially manufactured cable. I don't have a way to test it. The Avipas manual is virtually useless. I would greatly appreciate any suggestions, especially about the correct parameters to set on the camera and in vMix. I have read all the posts on this forum that searching for Avipas yields.

Quick guess: I know the Decklink Mini Recorder supports a framerate of only up to 30 fps on 1080p. Don't know about Avipas cameras, but make sure you only run it on 1080p30 fps, not on 1080p50 or 60.

You can test the SDI connection into the MiniRecorder card by using Blackmagic's Media Express app which is a part of the Desktop Video package. That should be your first step to establish the signal format before applying the same settings to the Camera input within vMix. If you can't get a picture into Media Express then you can't expect it to work in vMix.

Thanks for the quick responses. I had both vMix and the AV-1080 set for 1080p30. I have been unable to get a picture on Media Express so will try to find a shorter SDI cable to test. I will also try to find adapters so my current test equipment can do a continuity test on my 50 ft SDI cable.

I was able to get another cable to try that. The original cable was defective. The problem is solved.
