I understand that I will need to script in the "VB.NET" structure, in order to use the IF statements - but I'm not sure how I would go around to check what input is currently in the Output.
Is it possible?

Yes.

Check "scripting for dummies" post and have look at the API xml (127.0.0.1:8088/api)
