Hi,

For the past few days, my vMix keeps crashing/closing. I have uninstalled and reinstall but problem still persists. I also uninstalled NDI and reinstalled it but still keeps happening. All drivers are updated.

vMix would work for 30-40 minutes but after that it will just close. It happens on two machines now and 2x during an event... I checked Event Viewer and this is the one that keeps popping on the error..

Hi,

What is the NDI source that is crashing vMix exactly?

Regards,

Martin

Hi Martin,

I am quite not sure actually. I have uninstalled NDI tools to see if vMix would work without it but it still crashes. I have reverted back to 23.0.0.41 on my Alienware and only have 1 crash on it so far. My other desktop which I also reverted back to the same version still keeps crashing. At first it was the same problem, but now on Event Viewer, I keep getting "appxdeloypmentclient" on the crash log on my desktop.

Is it a Windows 10 problem? I haven't had this much vMix crashes ever..

What NDI inputs do you have open in vMix at the time and what application are generating those sources?

I've seen "appxdeloypmentclient" from old NDI apps due to a bug in older NDI versions, so if you are using
other NDI sources, make sure they are up to date.

I have VLC via NDI and the other desktop's monitor. I already uninstalled old NDI tools version and reinstalled NDI 4.5... but still crashes the desktop. I will try to reinstall vMix then NDI tools afterwards and leave it on and see how long it'll stay or if it won't crash.

I am close to reinstalling Win10 but hoping there would be a quicker fix than that..

Do you have any 3rd party video codecs installed..if so uninstall all of them....next ..when you uninstall vMix, go to the program folder and delete any vMix folders found , and also any Temp folders...you can also check the ProgramData folder...also Users >your PC name, > AppData, > Local, .a search for vMix, and you should find any left over folders...delete all ..then do a fresh install of vMix....if you get the same issue, then you really have a problem.....not a vmix one, but a MOBO problem....

Hi All,

Just an updated regarding the crashes... I had vMix running yesterday for the whole day and didn't crash but when I restarted my desktop, I suddenly keep getting crashes every 20 minutes now...

I only have the codecs that came with vMix installed, there is no NDI inputs on vMix, just NDI Tools 4.5 Virtual Input and Scan Converter running in the background... Still getting this error on the Event Viewer "appxdeploymentclient"... I don't have old NDI version installed as well..

I might have to do a clean uninstall and install of vMix or roll back one update below of Win10... my Alienware seems to be working just fine when I reinstalled NDI Tools 4.5 but still have to leave it running for 4-6 hours and see if it'll crash/close..

I'll give another update later on.

Sean

Probably best to drop us an email and send a support report in vMix of the preset where the issue occurs:

One idea that came to my mind is a new admin user you run vmix with. For W10 Pro. In the Computer Control create a new local user. Or you can use the command

net user "username" "Passwort" /add

Hi All,

Another update on desktop vMix. NDI seems to be working properly now but now I am getting "ntdl.dll" error in Event Viewer when vMix is crashing. Happened 3x now over the past day.

I am looking where the corrupt file is but every driver is updated..

Does this mean I have to reinstall Win10?

Thanks,

Sean

You could deinstall NDI toools and vmix, reboot and installl the latest versions again. Preferable in a new user account with admin previleges.

Maybe then I would install the NDI tools available at newtek.com. They also provide a NDI debugging tool.

22 is not more stable.
it crashes not only in vmix64.exe, but also vmix's system service going away.

This problem is happening to me repeatedly as well. We keep sending our reports to Vmix, but they don't seem to be able to solve the issue. Like everybody else on this thread, we have had the software crash without explanation multiple times. We do not have any other programs running. We have NDI coming from our Tricaster NC1. We have even simplified the network to where there's only the Tricaster into Vmix, and even with that simplified approach, vmix crashed on a show today. We make sure everything is updated to the latest software. There's really nothing we can do at this point and it's very frustrating.

We are really at our wit's end because there is no rhyme or reason when this will happen. sometimes it's 15 minutes into a show, sometimes never, sometimes at the end.

vMix team,
may be you have any debug version to help you to collect more crash info?
