So, all the preview boxes for some virtual inputs have gone gray. They switch in perfectly fine, but I cannot see in Multiview editor or in list of inputs. I deleted the original they were "virtual" created from, which I am assuming is what caused it - but everything else is working. Bug?

This is by design, if you close the source input the virtual input will no longer work.

Same thing brings me here. Is there any way to revert it or should I rebuild out all of those inputs independently? Its not a deal breaker, but I would love to have those input previews visible for peace of mind when using VMix Call for monitoring purposes.

As indicated in the manual, yes

That only spans during things closed in that session though. In my case the input was probably closed 20-30 sessions ago if I had to guess.

Just save your sessions as soon as you make changes then, like

myshowv1
myshowv2
myshowv3

Everything is under your eyes, just open them and use the features for what they do... I never found a software that can undo a mistake I did 6 months ago !

I mean, sure. But when you have a team that has 6 people who might make changes, that is recipe for disaster.

I guess all I am getting at is that if the virtual input still is functional after deleting the original input, there should be a way to regenerate the virtual input preview based on what it currently has with the multiview.

Training, documentation, more training and discipline is your answer. Also turn on the "Do you really want to close this input?" prompt and then don't forget re-training....

I found a solution.

In each input that turned gray, go to settings> general > on the top right coner "change" > then select de original input. In my case was color/transparent, I retrive my layers and triggers on the same configuration I left.
