+1
I use Voicemeeter as my 3rd party virtual audio cable. For the most part, it works well. But, I have had some issues. Since vMix does an incredible job of outputting video into platforms like Teams and Zoom, it seems only natural to have audio come from the same source instead of relying on 3rd party support. I like the idea of having everything under one roof (i.e. one company). MimoLive has this feature. No reason vMix couldn't do it.

Hi DWAM,
When I'm outputting to Microsoft Teams or Zoom, it doesn't show me that I have any vMix virtual audio devices other than Voicemeeter. My understanding has always been that vMix doesn't have one of its own, so that is why the vMix website pushes people to download their recommended 3rd party virtual audio cables/software.
Here's an excerpt from the vMix site about this issue...
"Some 3rd party programs do not support or recognise the vMix Audio output such as some Web Conferencing software (including Zoom, GoToMeeting, WebEx, etc)."

its unlikely you would gain anything if this feature was included natively with vMix as opposed to just installing a 3rd party option.. for broad compatibility with other software the virtual audio device needs to appear like hardware which means creating a separate driver and that is what already exists with 3rd party VAC software.. all vMix devs would be doing is recreating the same thing.

True. I just think that if vMix does such a good job transmitting video as a pseudo webcam, that a vMix version of a virtual audio cable would perform better than the 3rd party offerings out there. Plus, I always like the idea of keeping everything under one roof instead of having two programs handling multiple things.

Audinate Dante Via is like a virtual audio cable where you are able to not only connect to local apps but also enable source or destinations on the network. You could as an example have two computers connected on the local LAN and send the mic from comnputer A to a speaker on computer B just over the LAN. The good is that this very flexible software just costs 30$. So very rich functions at a bargain.
