When playing a video as an input there is a bar below the preview or programme windows which allows you to scrub left or right when the video is paused. Is there any way to map this to a keyboard shortcut so that a rotary control such as a Griffin PowerMate can be used for scrubbing?

Thank you for the link: I had seen that discussion. I'm not looking for precision, just a way to do as much - or as little - on the keyboard with the active video as I can with the mouse.

Thank you for your excellent suggestion: when I attempt this, however, I get an error message: "Duration is not a number or is invalid." I'm new to this program so I'm not sure what syntax it's expecting.

After restarting everything this is now functioning,- thank you very much. There must have been a glitch.
