Hi Martin and All,

When I first installed the latest version of vMix I had an error message saying that the Key I entered was registered to another computer.
I had to go to the website to re-enter my email address and Key and all seemed well.

But it's just happened again and this could be a big problem ..................

Tomorrow I am setting off for my first big live multi-camera shoot with vMix - and I will have no access to the internet.

I am going to look mighty silly in front of a lot of potential customers if I can't start the software.

It's starting ok now but will it do so tomorrow?

Is there a fail-safe Registration Key that I can use?

Please help.

Brian

Hi Brian,

The key needs to be re-activated each time the hardware changes on the system.
Have any hard drives been changed or swapped around at all? That could explain what is happening.

Regards,

Martin

Hi Martin,

Thanks for the clarification, and the peace of mind. Pheeeew!

Yes, I've added another hard drive.

I'll have to remember not to have a hard drive failure when I'm in the field !!!!!

I understand your need for protection but there must be a way round this for a professional system.

In earlier video capture systems I used hard drives in swappable caddies.
The need for this has gone away to some extent with the size of hard drives but I believe this feature is a limitation of vMix.

Maybe I need internet access via a mobile phone, I'd heard somewhere that you can do that, but it's all a bit hi-tech for an old duffer like me.

Please consider the serious bits Martin.

Thanks for the speedy support and for the great software.

Brian
