It is possible to share a computer screen with vmixcall, just like skype or hongout does?

@ donvago

If doing a vMix to vMix Call, either party can use the vMix DeskTop Capture Input to share on screen.
Otherwise, if using a browser to connect, only the Host can share their screen in vMix (as per above), since the browser has no option to share the screen.

And assuming, that one of the parties connects to the browser and has the desktop capture.

the receiving party that has the vmix can capture its screen?

That is the question.

If one of the parties has vmix and the other is from the browser and the desktop capture ... The one that is connected from the vmix could capture the other's screen?

No...
The vMix Desktop Capture Application needs to be on the same network for vMix to see it (as per NDI protocols).

If you want to capture the caller's screen, they will need to have vMix installed (even the free vMix Basic will work) and then use the "Connect to call" option to do a vMix to vMix Call.
(it will require the caller to have a working knowledge of vMix operation).

You can use the free NDI tools to capture the screen and send the NDI over WAN into your vMix production system. Take a look at medialooks transport software. That will do it.

WebRTC, the tech underlying vMix Call, does support screen capture. Many webrtc apps, like https://meet.jit.si, can do it. vMix Call, at present, does not support this.

It would really be amazing if vMix Call did support connecting to an NDI Scan Converter. I have a situation where I have guests who use Mac computers and I really wish they could share screen with my broadcast. For now I just have to use Google Hangouts instead..

On Windows your vMix Caller could use a virtual webcam app like Logitech Capture. It can select the webcam, desktop, or even overlay the two. For example:

Logitech Capture app: Ovelaying 4K Desktop and Brio webcam

Another alternative is to use OBS. In OBS you can compose a scenes that gets conveyed to the browser (vMix Call) as a webcam.

I accept that OBS is beyond a lot of people.

P.S. - I'm told that the virtual webcam support for OBS is via a plugin that's windows only.
