Today I tried connecting a Logitech C922 Pro Stream webcam to the latest vMix release (21.0.0.53.) I wanted to evaluate the latency introduced by using H.264 encoding.

The C922 does support H.264 encoding. I've used it in the mode in the past.

https://en.wikipedia.org...nboard_video_compression

I found that vMix did not allow the use of H.264 with this webcam. It returned an error, with a list of allowed resolutions & encoding types as follows:

Thinking this odd, I reached for a C920...and found a similar result. vMix does not allow H.264.
This time the error returned the following:

It seems that H.264 access to UVC devices is in some manner broken.

Are you using the Logitech or Microsoft UVC drivers? I found only the Microsoft UVC drivers worked properly (the irony), but unsure if I was using MJPEG or h.264.

Good question. I thought I was using the Microsoft UVC driver. But it's possible that since installing Camera Settings associated with Brio I am using the Logitech driver.
