Today when I switched on audio compression in the settings tab of an audio input source and I couldn't believe my ears. It looks like compression is applied on the left and right channel totally independent like if they were 2 mono channels. Unfortunately I cannot find a setting to change this unwanted behavior. One would expect this to be the "Channel" (All / SeparateMono) property but it isn't.

I use to work with 2 commentators for sports events. One is slightly panned to the left and one is panned to the right. When compression is applied and the left commentator speaks, depending on its sound level it looks like the panning changes from the left to the middle. This obviously is because compression is applied more to the left channel than to the right channel.

How can this be changed in a way that the level adjustment is done on both channels equally? And why on earth is this the default?

vMix now supports VST3 audio plugins.

Well possibly not now there are plugins, for instance I bought this on sale for $49 -

The vMix audio fundamentals are pretty good with 4 stereo buses, mix minus and embedding, de-embedding.
