In order for the iPad to read templates files, they must be created for the iPad. When you create a "New Tablet" template it will now save the file in the "Documents/vMix Panel Builder" directory with a .tab file type. This is the file types that the iPad will retrieve and display when you go to load a file. The reason for this is that the canvas size of the template, must match that of an iPad. When you create or created a "New Desktop" it creates .csv files, and allows you to change the canvas size, so some old templates would not fit if they were larger than an iPad.
Having said that, if you have an old .csv canvas that is small enough to be displayed on the iPad and don't want to completely recreate it, you can create a copy and rename it with a .tab file type. You could then edit it to properly fit the iPad. Then the file could be loaded into the iPad.
Please feel free to ask for additional help if you need.
much appreciated, Richard Thanks very much, I'll do this. I saw the option for .tab as opposed to .csv and incorrectly assumed that meant tab-delimited instead of comma-delimited.

@ Narcogen
Yes it appears that the file type is saved OK on Mac but not saved properly on the PC version. Sorry, I will look into this.. If you add .tab to the file name when you save it, it seems to work for now. I was also able change the file type to .tab and it was then recognized OK on the iPad.
thanks for the update. I'll try to get this fixed quickly. Richard

I'm actually on the Mac. Part of the problem was my error-- I did not have file extensions displayed properly. However, the desktop app on Mac also seems to be saving files in .csv format regardless of which format is selected, but forcibly changing the extension in the Finder afterwards does make it function.

It looks like on the Mac at least, .tab files are getting saved as .0 instead: Screen Shot 2019-10-14 at 6.55.31 PM.png (23kb) downloaded 0 time(s).

This is working GREAT...quick, smooth, ...so far, no issues.....just ran some tests and some issues I had are gone....
UPDATE:..Think I spoke too quick....now I see an earlier issue returned....When I close Panel Builder and relaunch, the last template launches, but some of the Icon Buttons lose their graphics, but when I manually open that template, it opens ok....other than that, it seems to work ok....I had this issue before, but it went away after some updates, but it has returned...I also notice that if I close and reopen 5 times, I see it still has 5 processes running in Task manager...and I have to manually close them, as they draw heavily on my CPU power

If you close the program with the red cross it is still running, with File/Quit it stops running.
I have the same issue with the graphics, open last does not help, open the preset refreshes the graphics. Double clicking the preset (.csv) does also not loading the graphics.
If a button is pressed a thin dotted outline is visible. It would be nice if that can be replaced by a thicker colored line for better touch feedback.

Would it be possible to create a button that functions as a tally light for a video or audio source, but does not actually perform a function?
Looking to create an interface so that remote contributors can see the status of sources, particularly audio, but I don't want them to actually be able to mute anything.

@Narcogen
Rather than create a seperate new object, I can add a “Read Only Mode” in the preferences. This mode would prevent any commands from being sent. This would also allow you to use all the current objects to design your contributors panel. For example, they could also see the position of faders etc.
Cheers, Richard

I think that would probably be perfect, as long as the panel file I send to the remote user can't override that setting.

Ran into the same problem with loading the graphics. Furthermore, a great program, a good alternative for a Stream Deck.

I notice that when loading a preset .tab is selected and when saving .csv is selected. Why is that and is there a difference? (also in connection with the the graphics problem)

@JW
When you create a "New Tablet" template for iPads, the file is saved as a .tab (short for "Tablet" and not tab delimited as one would suspect). The template size for this type of file is pre-configured for iPad and cannot be resized. These are the files that are read by the iPad when syncing.
.csv files are used for custom sizeable templates for use on PC or Mac. They cannot be used for syncing to iPads.
Normally the file type should correspond to the currently open file when saving but there seems to be an issue in the Windows version. Thanks for the heads up. I'll look into that. You can still select the file type manually to save it as the required template type (.tab for iPad and .csv for desktop).
The issue of loading graphics properly when "Open Last Template on startup" is selected will be fixed that in the next version. If you open a file manually for now, it will load the graphics correctly.
I am working on adding the "Read Only" templates for collaborators. Hopefully it will be available in the next version as well.
regards, Richard

I think I found a bug.
Panel Builder can't select virtual PTZ inputs, the tally works when I select the preset in vMix, but the button doesn't do anything. When I create multiple virtual PTZ presets, they are all called 'PTZ' in the inputs list.
I tested the program for a few hours and sometimes I didn't get tally information anymore. The buttons still worked, but the colors didn't change anymore. After reloading the preset it worked again.
(I am using it on the same computer as vMix)

@Ronald555
Yes it seems that the PTZ Input "titles attributes" behave differently than other inputs in the API XML. That would explain why the all show up as 'PTZ'. I will fix that in the next version. Thanks for the report !
The tally information freezing may have something to do with the PTZ functions as well... I'll look into it.

Thanks.
I noticed also that the CPU usage is going up to 30% when a PTZ button is defined. (after deleting back to 15%)

For those of you who downloaded version 3.0.12, Please upDate to version 3.0.13 !! http://cli.re/vMix-Panel-Builder-3.0.13Removed "ReadOnly" checkbox in Password Box. It was inadvertently left visible. This would allow users to edit the panel without a password. Sorry for that. thanks, Richard
