Would it be possible to put the equivalent of a "thumbwheel" next to the slider control on the preview / output window to allow In and Out points to be be more accurately set ? The slider is very hard to adjust hyper-accurately with only a mouse control to move it, and the Mark In and Mark Out do not seem to be able to be set accurately. If we could have a fine adjustment control or the ability to set numerically the time of the In and Out points it would save a lot of time when cue-ing recordings.
Many thanks
Update:
I think I am resurrecting an issue raised at
https://forums.vmix.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=10541
which never seems to have been resolved.
I have uncompressed video inputs I want to cue into a live broadcast and a thumbwheel would just make it easier. I can live with frame 'skips' if the compression algorithm forces these but from programs like Wondershare and Roxio I can cut a video anywhere I want because they both have a thumbwheel and/or the ability to enlarge the timescale.

you can do this with shortcuts.
set.PNG (18kb) downloaded 2 time(s).

-setposition
-input preview

-value -=40 for getting one frame back
-value +=40 for getting one frame forward

-value -=1000 for getting one second back
-value +=1000 for getting one second forward

Then add the shortcuts for Mark IN,Mark OUT, Clear IN, Clear OUT and everything is done.

And if you have a Streamdeck panel, it works even better.
set2.PNG (45kb) downloaded 0 time(s).

Keep in mind that with the different file formats, it is not always possible to change the position by 1 frame. With mp4 formats the steps possible are probably only +- 1 second. With vMix AVI oder ProRes you can jump every frame. This has to do with the encoding of the files (GOP).

Hi Peter

Thank you so very much for this quick and very informative reply.

I have a Launchpad Mini and have been trying to programme this for over a year but I had got the syntax slightly wrong for the -=x and +=x. You are right that I am limited to a 1 second skip, but 1 second is absolutely fine for what I need to do. But thank you for advice on how to achieve single frame advance.

I am also going to programme the shortcuts for the Mark In/Mark Out and Clears as you suggest.

Happy 2022 !
