Hey guys

My setup is:

Motherboard: TRX40 Aorus Master
Bios: F5K
Processor: AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3990X 64-Core Processor (64 CPUs), ~2.9GHz
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 (Running the latest driver version 460.89)
Capture Card: Blackmagic DeckLink 8K Pro
128 GB RAM
Water Cooling

4 NDI Inputs
1 SDI Input
Stereo Audio input

I have massive frame drops when recording multiple cameras
as well as going live on Youtube/Facebook.

Please advise ASAP.

Try with another graphics card, like a GTX 10xx or 16xx with appropriate drivers.

If same problem, elaborate on workflow, signal inputs, framerates, recording settings

Try the latest Nvidia drivers 461.09. This one is supposed to fix the issues referenced in the link above. If you still have problems, your going to need to give more details about your inputs, workflow, etc.

Hello, I have a configuration similar to yours, and I have problems with high RenderTime, did you somehow manage to solve the problem?

Tks!

Same issues here on the 3090 i have render times of 10-15ms and sometimes higher but when i switch out the card and put the 2080ti in the render times are 2-5ms. (with the latest appropriate drivers of course) something is clearly wrong. Does anyone have good render times on the 3090 ? i run 8 SDI cams at 1080p 59.94

I do have good experience with a 3090. I came from a 2080ti.

I produce a show in 4k with 3 callers and 1 to 2 4k camera inputs, several 4k subtitles, 4k backgrounds and integration with vmix social. The 2080ti could handle it, but once I started streaming (3 streams: 2 HD and 1 4k) the 4k stream would sometimes have dropped frames.

I migrated to a 3090 and I no longer have dropped frames with the same setup.

Show link for 4k version is here:

The hardware setup is:

Motherboard: TRX40 ASUS Zenith II Extreme Alpha
Processor: AMD Ryzen Threadripper 3990X 64-Core Processor (64 CPUs), ~2.9GHz
GPU: EVGA NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090 XC3 driver version 472.39 -- Resizeable BAR active and optimized
Capture Cards: AJA KONA 5 4k via 12G SDI, AJA HDMI with one HDMI 4k input
256 GB RAM
Water Cooling
Windows 10

The previous 2080ti is an EVGA 2080ti FTW3, with the same driver as above (studio driver).

My only observation is that with the 3090, the 3D utilization of the card stays the same once the streams start. With the 2080ti, I had around a 20% utilization overhead with streaming.

Overall I am very happy with the 3090 card. It does have some glitches with playing videos outside of vmix. Vmix works without issues for my show.
