Hi There

I am working with a couple of people who are looking at buying the Vmix4k, I am just interested in to see which codecs you can record with the Vmix, I downloaded the trial but I do not see any additional codecs but in the vmix config file there is a number of different ones e.g. Blackmagic, Matrox etc. Also with the multicorder what codecs can you record with that as well, also I am wondering does vmix record avid dnxhd files as well.

Regards Duane

Duane,
As a user I don't really know more than that (advanced) codecs require quite a bit of processing power.
An alternative, off loading the CPU, is to use an External output (e.g. to a Blackmagic card depending on your need) and record it's output with an Atomos, Blackmagic or other recorder. Such a solution will give you pro recordings with pro codecs, including DNxHD and ProRes.
