Is there anyway to set the file name for a recording via a script? This could happen either before or after the start of a recording. I try to add the episode number for all of my shows in the file name of the recording. But this is a bit cumbersome to set each time having to go into the recording settings, especially when I have a shortcut setup to make starting the recording when I am ready easier. I end up forgetting to change the file name every time I start recording. I would love it if there was some way to run a script that would prompt me for the episode number either at the beginning or end of recording my show.

Sure you can , after the recording.

the vMix knowledge base has an example to load a recording when it finishes recording, one can adjust it to renaming that file

Part of a production is not to forget things ;-)

I don't need to add it to my production. I just simply want a prompt to ask me what to name the file via a shortcut that automatically runs before or after recording.

I did say one can adjust (modify) the script as in rename the filev( or ask for ) instead of loading the file into the production !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It is just a example on how to find the last recording, what you then do with it is up to you to program in the script !

You have to make your own script to do what you want it to do. ( practically anything one can do in vb.net code/scripting )

Notice its 99% the script from the knowledge base ;-)
