I have a question about setting up vMix and Unity intercom for IFB from the director, not the person running vmix, to people on vmix calls. I have Unity intercom working and program audio going into it via Dante. I also have an IFB channel that is routed into vmix which I would like to use for anyone on com to be able to speak with the presetners (provided I give them access to that Unity channel). I know this can be done because I've seen it in action. I'm just not sure of the exact routing/triggers.

Before the presenters go live they in a virtual green room with their mics active on BusA and a program feed coming in. Their audio return is also BusA. The Unity IFB channel is also on BusA so the producer can speak to them whenever they want just by activating that channel on the Unity client.

Where the wheels come off is during rehearsals, when the presenters are live I need to change their return audio to another bus so they don't hear chatter from presenters who are still in the greenroom but I still need the ability for producers or directors (not the engineer) to talk to them. Their return needs to be a mix minus + the IFB channel, but the IFB channel can not ever go to the master bus. There aren't enough buses to create a return for each presenter.

Is this possible without an external audio console?
