What are the preferred wireless tally systems?

Also, are there any cheap tally solutions that I might not be aware of like using the RS422 or similar ports to just add a tally light to the camera over NDI? I'm running POE and don't want to have to run another wire, so it's either wireless or through the camera. Thanks

I've been doing a lot of coding with Teensy boards (not wireless) and ESP32 and ESP8266 boards (both wireless) to get activators over MIDI. Fun but time consuming.

Even with all that, I'm still partial to this project:

Wireless Tally Light for $10 M5Stick-C (ESP32-Board) for vMix - Tally Light for a cheap all-in-one microcontroller with LCD panel

got my Flex Tally 2 weeks ago.

Large and bright lights which I can recommend. These lights have 4 brightness settings.

I've tested the endurance:

- @ max. brightness the lamp lasts almost 6 Hours
- @ 3/4 brightness (which is perfect for indoor use) it increased to 7,5 hours

At 600 bucks for 4 tallys and a base system, the definition of cheap isn't what it used to be. LOL! But yes for broadcast that is cheap. I ended up going with the M5stick and was surprised at how well they work with wireless. The cameras I have run power over USB, so it was perfect for me as I can power these up with USB and POE via the camera. Still a one-cable solution.
