I'm using X-keys controller to change Transitions 1-4 with shortcuts.

However, it's not currently possible to use activators to show which transition effect is selected.

I'm proposing activator that would trigger if Cut/Merge/Fade etc. is chosen as Transition1-4.
thanks 1 user thanked jip for this useful post.

Can you explain how to envision that please? There are 20 possible transitions (V24) that can be triggered with your x-keys and they last initially 500ms

I was thinking something like this:

Code:
If Transition1=="Cut"
   Light up button A
Else if Transition1=="Merge"
   Light up button B
End

etc.

Yes you could do the testing part as is available in the api xml , not sure about the activators though.

Still not clear as to the actual purpose as it would be much easier to just define shortcuts/buttons to do the transition you would want

I had the same problem. If you assign shortcuts "set transition effect" to different buttons with different kind of transitions and if you can't assign the activators, you don't know which transitioin is active in that moment.

+1 to the request.

+1 and Duration

I also want to light the lamps depending on the effect selected for TRANS 3 and separate lamps for the duration.

This is how the effect for the AUTO button is adjusted on my controller, as on professional consoles.
