Yes. This would be very handy. At present record start stop gets one file per press of the record button. At the end of an event, I have lots of files that I then have to load into a time line editor and sting together. Very time consuming. After an event I just want to pack up, sit down and open an esky. :)

+1!! I've begun evaluation of vMix in place of another software mixer/streamer and I really like it a lot. However, without the ability to pause recording to wait for an event to take place and then restart the recording without creating a new file and thus requiring post processing, I cannot make use of this program. Are there any plans to implement a Record Pause capability in the near future? I see this request was made in Feb 2014 and no response indicated. Regards, CWirtanen

As alternative, an option to append video (with same parameters) to an existent file. This is possible in Transport Stream (.ts)

Pause or append feature would be awesome. I shoot quite a few meetings which often go long and include breaks, pausing or appending would be the bomb to eliminate post processing.

+1 I would like to pause recording as well. Often you have short files, but an event can be held up, and sometimes music is played, which becomes a copyright issue. Being able to pause the recording would save a lot of post processing.

A Pause on Recording would be great. I live stream live music events and do not want to record Intermissions and Set Changes.
