I will preface my post by saying I am a video and vMix noob, so bear with me..

I have just purchased an HP Omen 17 laptop: i7-10750H 2.6ghz, 16 gb ram, RTX 2060, running trial version of vMix 23.0.0.59. I am attempting to connect a 2013 MacBook pro 2.4ghz i5, 4 gb Ram, intel iris graphics, and a Lenovo t430 i5-3320M 2.6ghz, 6gb ram, intel graphics 4000. I have a netgear gigabit switch GS108, with cat5e cabling to all computers. I am running the NDI tools scan converter on both MacBook and Lenovo. These computers are being captured using the NDI/Desktop capture input within vMix.

My current vMix settings are 1280x720, 59.94, although I have tried 1920x1080 at 30 and 59, still the same results. What I am experiencing is very choppy video playback, off of both computers, along with massive dropped frames in the statistics window. I have checked ethernet speeds on all computers, and they all say they are connected at 1gb. Any idea on what could be going on? I have gone through the vMix optimization check list and have made sure everything is good.

test on the same computer with studio monitor. If that feed is good it the connection between then. So most likely your switch.

Thank you for your reply mavik. Upon further testing I realized that both my vMix pc and Lenovo were set for “public” internet profiles. Once i changed them to “private” it looked like the problem was fixed. Unfortunately I couldn’t figure out how to get the MacBook to work correctly.

Have you deactivated WiFi on your Macbook, just to make sure it's using the ethernet connection?
