I don't think a black frame would look more professional than a frozen frame... However I agree there's certainly a need for improvement here. Richard's feature request "OnCallConnect and OnCallDisconnect triggers" is definitely more interesting... Having triggers on connect and disconnect would allow everyone to decide on their own what to do as soon as such an event occurs. Personally I would certainly keep the frozen frame but add a title over it to indicate the call is disconnected or the guest has left the show... Same on connects where I could use a title saying "awaiting for the guest to connect" with a background image of the guest or anything else and still have my multiview ready... So please, instead of this feature request which really points out a clear need, please add your +1s to this other FR which is more powerful and has more potential and offers more solutions diversity to handle this situation. https://forums.vmix.com/...nCallDisconnect-triggersThanks Guillaume

+1 - TV show director told me the same, it looks pretty unprofessional that the caller is stuck. Best way would be to chose if the last frame is the last frame or if it's all black whatsoever.
Thank you for your support!

This would be very helpful. also +1 on being able to trigger from connect or disconnect to fade from input. I'd rather it go to a still image (headshot) than to black to and from.

+1 and why this has not been addressed yet is beyond me.
This is a very serious flaw. When they disconnect with a "not so flattering face" It is cringy, unprofessional,
and It DOES have direct repercussion with clients.

Dont simply request a black frame. This would be bad. This would also apply on package loss or network communication errors. If this occures mid call a black frame woul look unprofressional and a last frame+audio (like used in zoom/skype) is the better lloking option.
But ic can understand your damands. What would be real proffesionel is thsi behaviour:
Make the option to define a fallback vMix input. Fallback input could no be a color, colorbar, still image, videoloop, titlegraphic or a combination with a multiview input. This would make a anamation possible wich shows a end of call video clip wich blends into a still.
Trigger rules for this fallback. The defined fallback input should only show if the operator or guests intentionally disconnects. If the caller have network problems the freez should be shown. So pressed end of call will send an commandstring to activate the fallback
Advanced Implemetation ideas:
Seperate intentionally disconect and packetloss. Define a wait time for packetloss, the timer refreshes if the caller gets back has an good siganl before timer expires. Now there is an second fallback an separate definable input if the packetloss timer is expires. This will leave room for automatic problem-colorbar image.
What should also be possible. Make Disonnect of call accessable via shortcut. And also make a trigger possible wich allows to launch inputs if intentionally disconnected. This would be extra pro if the end of call would merge with a stinger transition-
Greetings Paul

Everything Paul said! Fallback vMIX Input automated or with triggers would be a great start!

I love this idea, but would like to suggest this functionality: On call disconnect, overlay (automatically) an Input of my choosing.
Each caller could be set independently.
That way I could load up an input as a fallback, like a still of the caller with text like "On the phone with..." etc etc.
