Hello vMix community.

I just found vMix and so far love it!

My set-up:
i7 2600 Win 7 desktop
8gb ram
2x allegro firewire (fw) cards
vMix v2011 (trial)
FLME 3.2

I'm setting up for a 2-source live edit, live webcast -- 1x DV camera via firewire into 1st allegro fw card; 1x VGA out from presentation laptop (thru AV Tool scan converter, out via s-video thru ADVC-55 converter, out via fw into 2nd allegro fw card)

vMix recognizes both sources perfect.

vMix shows up as video device in FLME, and preview (in & out) displays proper when audio is un-checked. vMix does not show up as audio device -- only 'Microsoft DV camera and VCR' & 'AV/C Tape Recorder/PLayer' are available.

Only audio in the mix is what's coming through DV camera.

How do I send vMix audio to FLME?

I have been able to successfully encode using FLME in video only mode -- switching is beautiful and smooth. I am encoding in 640x480 700kbps h264 29.97fps. Did 50 switches before ending test and it worked perfect...just no audio.

Thanks in advance for help.

Hi,

Please see if the following help item helps:

http://www.vmix.com.au/h...files/LiveStreaming.html

If you do not have a "Stereo Mix" or "What U Hear" audio source on your computer, you can enable it through the following:

Thanks for your prompt response.

I found both links prior to posting this and followed instructions with no success.

There are no 'what u hear' or 'wave' option in FMLE.

So I followed other post's advice and clicked 'show disabled devices'. Then, Stereo Mix shows but can't click it to open. I'm trying this again from step 1...perhaps I opened FMLE too soon.

On a separate note, I noticed that switching between both video inputs also switches audio source. Is there a way to select one audio source without it fading between switches and manually having to re-select audio from video camera source?

Thanks for you support. This is a great piece of software.

Might this have to do with windows update, or version 3.2 of FMLE?

Hi,

Once the Stereo Mix option is visible in the Recording section of the Sound control panel right click it and select Enable.
Then reopen FMLE and it will appear as a sound recording option.

To disable automatic audio switching, click the i button for the input and untick "Automatically Mix Audio"

Thanks for walking me through this.

I better understand how audio is handled now.

Incredible software, excellent support.
