I saw the new SRT tutorial which helped me understand, that Caller and Listener do not have anything to do with the direction of the signals. Thanks for that! :)

Now that I know that I can have an output as a Listener, I ask myself: how man clients can connect without affecting the machines performance (i9 10 core, 1080TI)? Are 8 possible clients ok?

Regards
Sebastian

According to the Haivision SRT Deployment Guide, I think I read you can only connect one destination to one SRT source. I tried this anyway and as soon as I connected with my 2nd destination, the video received went extremely pixelated. That being said I've got 4 available SRT outputs in my Vmix 4K, so I imagine you can set up 4 sources on different ports, but I've yet to test it. Curious to see how it works, I think my GPU card can only do 2 hardware encodes so I guess CPU will jump up.

Here's the guide: https://www.vmix.com/dow...nce_Deployment_Guide.pdf

Edit: In the guide they did say you can use an SRT gateway to receive a single stream and send to multiple destinations. They have an appliance for sale that does that.

When you have a Listener running, it's definitely possible to have more connections. It worked without problems with eight destinations which were configured as Callers (all with different latencies).

Is that so? I'll have to try it again. Can you share your setup? Vmix was the listener?

Configure vMix Output as a Listener and connect to it with multiple other vMixes where the SRT Inputs connect es Callers. It works.
