The developers are concerned with screen real estate with regards to these requests, but some hashes or a few key dB numbers between the left / right meters wouldn't take much. Hovering the mouse over the meter to see the dBfs number is frequently suggested, but is impractical during busy productions. At a glance is key on this matter.
