Hi

Normally, when recording a vMix live production, I edit the recordings in either Resolve on PC or FCPx on Mac.

All of a sudden, the files from our 3 latest products seems unreadable.

- I cannot play the files in Windows
- I cannot import the files back into vMix
- I cannot open the files in FCPx on Mac
- I tried running one of the recordings through vMix Videotools and not even this file is any good afterwards

As I see it, the files should be plain ProRes .mov's and normally, this would be just fine.

Here's my setup in vMix - any one got a clue?

I had the same problem of not being to play the videos suddenly. My work around (and don't ask me why it works :-) is to load the video into movavi video converter, convert it (mp4 to mp4 which takes about 5 seconds), it gets 2K larger, but it is a normal MP4 at that time.

You have to do indexed files for normal playback.
You can fix un indexed with vMix video tools

Remember, indexed files aren't fault tolerant if the recording is terminated unexpectedly. That's why the unindexed version of the files is available in vMix.
