I am trying to set up two cameras to stream via rtsp, each time get an error message. I also try loading the cameras through VLC, the browser will show up but the camera is not visible. Can anyone give me some advise to how I can get these cameras to stream. Or the correct rtsp://address and ended after the port address

rtsp://USERNAME:PASSWORD@IPADDRESS:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=0&proto=Onvif

USERNAME = username
PASSWORD = password
IPADDRESS = address of ip camera eg. 192.168.0.19

eg.

rtsp://USERNAME:PASSWORD@192.168.0.19:554/cam/realmonitor?channel=1&subtype=0&proto=Onvif

Add stream input via RTSP.

rtsp.png (18kb) downloaded 0 time(s).

Add stream input via VLC.

vlc.png (19kb) downloaded 0 time(s).

Thank you for the info, I will give this a try tomorrow. Will add the User name of Camera and than the Password of Camera @ Ip Address and port 554 which is default for Amcrest rtsp. I hope pray it sees the log in box. I was trying to find out how to disable the box login in credential completely. That way there would be nothing preventing the browser from opening once you went to the ip address.

Thank you very much,was able to get the cameras to become visible without having to go through VLC. So yes it worked. I think the cameras need to be active in the browser prior to streaming. Once again thank you. rtsp://admin:username@ipaddress:port

I have used (and still using) 2 Foscam IP-cams... Normally you can find in the manual how to open an RTSP-stream.
For my Foscam IP-Cams (C2) it is: rtsp://username:password@IP-address:Port/VideoMain (RTSP over UDP)

No need for opening a browser or VLC...
