Something I can't get my head around when using an excel sheet in vmix, maybe someone here can help. In the image attached is how I have the data source coming in. Use first row as column names is checked and convert rows to columns. Why is it then I can not select "auto" in the column dropdown..If I did it would put a blank in the 1st one..Then Team 28, 0-14, Team 14, Team 27, 0-13, Team 13...basically it starts off going backwards from the bottom up? The scores I can actually select "auto" and it puts the correct things in. I can get it all working np doing it manually, but why does "auto" work this way? Any help, with why this happens? databaseproblem.png (179kb) downloaded 3 time(s).

Why is the "auto"-function that important for you?
End the end of the day you just need to map every field just one time? After that you can use it always in the same way.

Yes but wouldn't it be nice if you did not have to map it every time, by just setting it out correctly on your spread sheet. Imagine having 10 rows with 10 columns, not so easy to map and I have had the input simply dissapear a couple of times while I have been trying to map each row/column correctly.

I now what you mean, but in my opinion you just have to map it one time ?! After that vmix knows the exact row and column for the next game.

Auto works if the title fields have the same name as the column headers of your datasource (or vice versa) so no Quote:End the end of the day you just need to map every field just one time? After that you can use it always in the same way. as then you dont even have to map it once assuming you also prep the textblock names in the title especially when using rows to columns . will make your live much easier it's right there in the help files Quote:Column: Select the column to use for this particular Title Field, if you leave this set to Auto, the data source will map based on the following: a) Will first look for the first column with the same name as the Title field, for example "Headline"
b) If no column is found, use the column index that matches the Title field index. For example Headline would be Column1, Description Column2 and so on.

I'm not sure what I am doing wrong though, my first row is Home Team, but if I select auto it goes to Team 28 which is in the 3rd coloumn, then starts working backwards 0-14, then Team 14 This is going from the end and working backwards, and not from the top...if that makes sense. vmix2.png (31kb) downloaded 1 time(s). vmix1.png (23kb) downloaded 0 time(s).

Maybe its something very simple, but my first one is blank and then all the rest starts from the end. The scores come in perfectly with "auto".

Thanks for checking this out, (not sure I was doing it right, as I am new to this) I will make a new test one out with single words and try again to see how it goes. Its much easier for auto to work, rather than have to link each one individually. I do like to know why things don't work the way they should, so I can make life easier for myself with future things.

No I seem to be getting the same problem with a quick simple test with single words. Have you tried it with 3 columns? problem.png (44kb) downloaded 0 time(s).

your TextBox names in the title are wrong , should start with a number at the end so "Home" should be "Home1" and so on

Quinton,
Auto can only work correctly if the field names exactly match the column names in the data source. Otherwise it just goes by order, which is the order they appear in the GT Designer, top to bottom.

No way, and it was this simple all along. Pretty sure I am not the only one that has this problem. Many thanks for the help, this will make it much easier to set things up now without worrying I have mapped them up correctly.

Originally Posted by: doggy your TextBox names in the title are wrong , should start with a number at the end so "Home" should be "Home1" and so on That just solved my problem, but unfortunately I have to rearrange now over 150 text fields in a template, just because the first one starts without a number and I just copied and therefore got Text, Text1, Text2 and so on. Is there a way to solve this without rearranging everything? I tried setting Text to Text0 but it didn't help. Btw: in this case, it wouldn't be bad if GT title designer would always start with "1" at the end of every text and image as default. Just in case someone wants to use it with auto fill and would be running in the same problem afterwards.
