How do you get the best performance when doing HD video in vMix? I am streaming at 480ish but am bringing in multiple HD signals. Does vMix perform better if the system resolution is your final streaming resolution or if you resize the video in FME within the streaming tab? I am having issues with dropped frames in my recording when having the full screen going to another monitor. I also sometimes have a sizable amount of dropped source in the info tab.

Quad Core i7
Black Magic Intensity Pro
8GB of ram
Have a ATI Radeon 6870:
USB to VGA output to Powerpoint Screen
DVI output to Primary Monitor
DisplayPort to Matrox DualHead2Go to Secondary Monitor (Other Applications) and Third Monitor for vMix Full Screen Output

Which gives the best performance?

Inputs: 1080i and 720p
vMix System Resolution: 854x480
FME Streaming Resolution: 854x480
Recording Resolution: 1280x720

or

Inputs: 1080i and 720p
vMix System Resolution: 1920x1080
FME Streaming Resolution: 854x480
Recording Resolution: 1280x720

or

Inputs: 1080i and 720p
vMix System Resolution: 1280x720
FME Streaming Resolution: 854x480
Recording Resolution: 1280x720

FMLE resize uses more CPU than vMix resize, so you want to pass 1:1 video to FMLE.

My formula for vMix:

Output Size = Recording Size
vMix video device = FMLE resolution

This should work fine with progressive resolutions, but for interlaced you might lose interlace information along the way.

Awesome, good to know!

Now I just need to figure out why I am dropping source frames in that analysis window.
