Thanks for the suggestion. I ran the performance monitor and my CPU was hovering between 10% and 20% so no issue there. Sorry for joining the discussion so late, I didn't see it before. With VAC 4.50 and 4.51 that support RT Audio (WaveRT) and default to this mode, popping/crackling might occur due to KS buffer size limitations in Windows. There was a workaround (setting Ms Per Int to 1..3 ms, or change port type from WaveRT to WavePci or WaveCyclic). In 4.60, this problem is fixed.
