Hello all. New user here. I just installed vMix for evaluation. I tried to start it and got an immediate error:
Graphics Hardware is not supported. DirectX 9 compatible hardware is required
D3DStartup.D3D_NEW_XP D3DERR_NOTAVAILABLE: Not available (-2005530518)
I am running a new machine with i5-3570k processor and 8GB memory. This includes the Intel HD4000 graphics. If I run dxdiag it says that my DirectX version is DirectX 11. Why won't vMix run?
Thanks for the help! Rob
p.s. Windows7-64

Can you ensure you have updated your Windows and graphics card drivers and try again to see if the error persists?

Thank you. Of course it was something simple like that. I've been a Mac guy all my life and am new to Windows. I seem to have drivers updated sufficiently to be able to run multiple monitors.
I've got vMix running and have two USB cameras and the built-in camera for the monitor all working. I'm quite impressed so far.
I have more questions about video capture from a PCI card, but let me do a bit more research first. Thanks.

OK. Answered my own question. And the answer is drivers, again. I am evaluating the Magewell 6-channel SD video capture card. http://www.magewell.com/...ae_features.html?lang=enAfter I installed the driver for this card, it seems to work well with vMix. It is a DirectShow based card so it should work fine. I have only hooked up 3 SD cameras but have no reason to believe that 6 won't work. I'll post more info when I get there.
