SHMD, If you could setup AnyDesk on the laptop and setup a login password, drop us an email (info@vmix.com.au) so we can login and take a look. https://www.anydesk.com/If I had to guess, it might be some 3rd party software interfering somehow as it is not something that shows up on the laptops I have tried. Regards, Martin vMix

Render Times INCREASED by 20ms since April Windows Update - vMix 21.0.0.36.
I tracked down a few things - like it had re-enabled Melt-Down protection, but turning this off didn't actually regain much (10ms).
Normally I run around 5-12ms Render time with no streaming, recording or external. The last time I used it before the windows update, this was still the case.
Its an MSI laptop (GL72 7QF): i7-7700HQ (running at 2.8 - 3.5 Ghz (normally max speed), Quad Core), 16Gb RAM, nVidia 960m (2gb) graphics.
I've tried turning off 'storage boost' as I read somewhere this had caused an issue. Also tried turning off USB boost and running in 'Comfort' (Power-Balanced) mode.
I've now installed the latest nVidia drivers and removed the 'experience' app, as this has caused render times of over 100ms in the past (on a different machine).
I'm running vMix 21.0.0.36
I've also noticed I can no longer desktop-capture an individual app window - only the full screen. I'm not really sure when this broke, but it is still working under vMix 21.0.0.35 on the studio computer (pre April update). I'm almost certain it stopped working with the April update on this machine.
I seem to remember having desktop-capture and high render time issues a year ago, but then it was because the system was selecting the wrong GPU. I've set nVidia as the default GPU and checked that vMix is using it. I've tried with and without Optimus - which makes no difference.
Interestingly if I load vmix with no inputs, no external/stream/record, ie its doing nothing, I still get 3ms render time. If I switch to the Intel GPU, it goes down to 0ms.
The high render times don't seem to be affecting the frame rate, but they are getting very close I suspect. The biggest problem is the desktop-capture.
Does anyone have any ideas? Its probably something stupid. I've checked what tasks are running. While the render time is around 20ms, its only using 34% GPU and about 25% of GPU memory.
CPU-vMix is running at around 19-20% and total system at 30-31%. I also tried with the system default GPU set to Intel and only vMix set to nVidia - which made no difference.
Hmm...
G.

Further to my previous post, WOLS Facebook group also confirms desktop capture issues:
From: John A Thomson
Can confirm local desktop capture appears to be broken with Win10 x64 1803.
Desktop capture onto another laptop that's still running Win10 x64 1709 works okay.
UPDATE: Remote desktop capture also is broken. Seems to only be capturing full desktop not individual app windows.
(From Giles: I've not tried NDI capture, only local, but it would appear that John is having the same issue with NDI).

Using Intel 630, this works for me too. Maybe it is an nVidia thing (with 1803)? ovinas wrote:Works for me on Win 1803. Local with MacMini internal Intel GPU. Remote from Macbook internal Intel GPU.

Core i7-4770k 32 Gig of Ram GTX 750 Ti 500 Gb SSD Windows 10 Pro April 2018 update. I don't have any issues with the beta so far: i7-5775C-Quad core desktop CPU 16 GB RAM GTX 750 Ti running driver 391.01 500 GB SATA SSD Windows 10 Home 1803 I did have a problem with things back in February. I reverted the GPU driver and that eliminated the issue.

Hi all!
We found troubles with Tally based on Arduino technology (we use MetaSetz device). After updating there are no lights on tally units.
After that we tried tally once again on previous version of vMix (20.0.55) and everything is ok.

To clarify in regards to desktop capture support. On Optimus laptops it isn't possible to capture other windows using Local Desktop Capture while running vMix using NVIDIA graphics. On dedicated graphics systems it should work fine.
Note that this has been the case for a while now and is not related to the recent Windows 10 updates.

Hi Martin - Thank you for this update. I was using desktop capture to capture 2 individual app windows on my Optimus nVidia laptop right up to the new windows release without problems. Its only broken since 1803 for me. I didn't know that it wasn't supposed to work before - lol! G. admin wrote:To clarify in regards to desktop capture support. Good to know Optimus laptops have this problem. That's a real pain.
I have an older Lenovo L440 with an Intel 4600 only that also refuses to capture windows using Local Desktop Capture but will quite happily show the full screen. Is this a known deficiency in the 4600 driver/hardware? This is the same on both 1709 and 1803 running with the very latest Intel driver.
I got my other dual graphics laptop to work with 1803 after doing a clean install of the latest April NVIDIA graphic driver update.

not sure if these issues are specific for version 21 (.38) but i will report here.
i am doing some long tests because I had vmix collapse on me lately. now after running and recording after about 3 hours vmix will just collapse... the program will just stop and quit altogether. happened on an intel and now on a amd machine.
running a new test now, and will try to record the screen to see what really happens.
i record to ffmpeg mp4 (really fast) and another thing i notice is that the file length reported is only 10 seconds. the rec is longer (30 min) but the file length is reported as 10 sec, so i can not scroll to the end of the file ( i rec 30 min intervals) to see what happens at the end...
trying to pinpoint the problem but can not send a problem report or dump, vmix just quits. the ffmpeg file just reports the last segment recorded like all previous...
how do i get to the bottom of this?
stefan
edited addition: problem is fixed: turned out the machine I was working on Intel nuc skull ) had an issue that later made the complete machine stop working. its been sent back to intell and now i have a new machine, running and mixing, and recording and ndi-ing just the way i want it and for as long as i want it.
greetings ( edited on may 11)

Hello,
I would like to say hello to the comunity and report problem.
Using version vMix 21.0.0.38 (and all 21's previous) when i want to setup external output with blackmagic Mini Monitor (PCIe version) i got message:
"vmix outpu format must be set to UYVY for this device"
I've checked the performance tab and its set to UYVY.
When reinstalling to version 20.xxx it is working corectly.
My setup is standart HP Z420 workstation with 2x Mini Monitor PCI
